The Haploos Training Model
Our extraordinary training team offers higher levels of success than a lesser training team. 130+ combined years of curriculum development skills and expertise elevates Haploos’ ability to effectively train. Turning a technical training procedure document into a learnable curriculum is relevant anywhere. As shown above, learning retention is often difficult to achieve. In response, we created a simple, scientifically-based and education proven Training Model to overcome this obstacle:
Haploos starts by defining what we are training through a common language understood by each participant. Each participant is able to speak and understand the same language, terms and definitions. Next, we help participants understand what we are teaching through multiple adult learning techniques. After the information is understood, each participant needs to experience the information through anecdotes, role-playing, exercises, actual use and more, reinforcing knowledge retention. Lastly, each participant must walk away from the training feeling motivated and capable of living out and consistently repeating what they learned.
Failure to formalize and create the space for practice back in the workplace dooms most training programs to deliver returns, at best, 65% of their potential.
Haploos Curriculum Design Process
Haploos invested significant resources into having veteran educators develop a world-class curriculum development process.
1. Material Assessment
Create a high-level overview of the training curriculum. Develop a course outline and in collaboration with the client, define the desired learning outcomes and takeaways.
2. Understand Audience
In collaboration with the client, the courses are defined and developed based on:
- The intended audience members who will take the course.
- The intended audience’s current competencies and abilities.
A two-part gap analysis, including:
- Existing client provided courses.
- Courses already completed by staff.
3. Material Design
We provide the Client with multiple potential training units to consider. They select certain units that cover all components. We then develop the curriculum, supporting materials, activities and assessments from the list of prioritized training units.
4. Training Plan
To assist in the learning and retention of the project, we use both mid-course testing (e.g. quizzes, hands-on activities, spiral activities) and an end-of-course final exam. During implementation, we continuously assess all courses ensure the needs of Client’s team members are being met. As needed, we modify or develop curriculum, activities and supporting materials.
