Areas of Expertise / Experience

Ken has extensive experience in creating, renovating, and optimizing Project Management Offices (PMOs), in both corporate and government environments.  He organized and mentored a struggling PMO within the Intelligence Community (IC), enabling them to prioritize projects and establish effective criteria for selection, team composition, and tracking.

He successfully led all lean operations throughout China and the United States for a major housewares manufacturer.  Ken also has extensive experience in large scale intermodal logistics.  He championed successful kaizen processes at several major seaports worldwide, and was supported by local initiatives and union involvement.  He implemented projects in four US ports, resulting in millions of dollars in annual savings regarding container management, detention, and 3PL expenses.  While overseas, he conducted a multitude of reconstruction projects in Iraq, requiring intense negotiation with contractors from Germany, Japan, Spain, and Kuwait.

While working with clients involved in government logistics, he led a team that pioneered the ability to implement Total Asset Visibility (TAV) and establish distribution nodes anywhere in the world within two days.

He has conducted dozens of training events on leadership, Lean Principles, and Six Sigma.  Graduates from his courses have saved their companies millions of dollars and improved morale and performance in their culture due to his advice and mentoring.  In fact, Ken and his team were recognized by the Postmaster General as a primary catalyst for change and distribution reform in the Pittsburgh region.

Recently, he worked closely with a major financial institution in the Pittsburgh area, guiding them through a successful Agile transformation of their venerable and defect-riddled loan process, mired from the effects of multiple mergers and acquisitions, into a cutting-edge IT solution.
